JANUS.

And it’d only taken an instant for that BOY to send fury through her body. Sure, he was right he father could and WOULD easily replace it for her. But that wasn’t the point. How much shit was she going to have to take before she’d finally be the hell out of this school. She already couldn’t make friends as it was, but then it was WORSE that being invisible. This incident clearly marked it as being treated like crap because of her money. And her parent’s money at that. Sure, she took advantage of it, but what teenager wouldn’t? This one took hard though. It wasn’t about the stupid phone. Even with the screen scattered. Even if ALL her photos and contacts and whatever else was on their - given if it wasn’t already backed up on the cloud - were lost. This was about HER. This was personal and she was an emotional, young teenage girl so of course the entire situation brought tears to her eyes, even though she tried to hide them. To look strong and TOUGH. To try and show he wasn’t getting to her, but he had. And there was NO going back from it. A light mumble came from under her breath.

            “ I don’t think that’s really the point…”

guilt creeps insidiously along the edges of his psyche —— not enough to ruin his perfectly blasé façade by apologizing to her, but enough to keep him standing there instead of just strolling home so that she might have the opportunity to ream him out. he casts a cursory glance towards the end of the hallway while waiting for her to start yelling, hands hiding themselves away in his front pockets. immediately upon facing her again does he notice the glassy sheen her eyes have taken on. oh, how quickly does guilt give way to panic! if she goes crying to her daddy, word will get back to his own  ( and under no circumstances can he be complained about to his father )   if she goes to the administration, getting kicked off of the wrestling team is a very real possibility what with his disciplinary record  ( and that means he’ll lose his much needed scholarship. )  weight is redistributed from one foot to the other as the true precariousness of this situation presses down upon him. mines of his own making have planted themselves all around him, and one misstep could either explode his entire future or paint him in transient shades of black and blue.

are you —— ? dude, it was an accident. i wasn’t paying attention to where i was goin’.
